Both modeling and experimental results demonstrate several realistic scenarios in which wheel hubs experience accelerations greater than 100g, sometimes at very low vehicle speeds. This paper focuses on the experimental determination of suitable design goals for in-hub motors (wheel motors), describing the experimental test rig, experiment procedures, and experimental results from testing conducted at UT-CEM. The paper also discusses implications of these results on wheel motor design, leading to the conclusion that a realizable and feasible design goal for a combat vehicle wheel motor shock rating is 150 g's, with a 10 to 20 ms pulse width.

As you can see, the fitment looks very good on the car. The wheels and tires fill out the wheel wells satisfyingly, though don’t rub in any way. Since the tires are summer fitment, we are running them only in warmer weather. Before the seasons turned, we were able to log some miles and found that the greater weight and larger contact patch with summer compound tires did take a toll on range. Tag even a small pothole with a car shod with a 205/60R15 tire, and you might experience a cut sidewall, but the tire's fatter sidewall has the ability to withstand a lot more abuse before the wheel gets damaged. Hit that same pothole in something equipped with 19-inch wheels and low profile 255/45R19s, and you'll likely not only blow out the tire, you'll be in for some significant wheel repair since the tire simply doesn't have the sidewall flexibility to protect the wheel. Older steel wheels are less prone to damage from such a strike, but lightweight alloy wheels are essentially designed to deform on impact.

I sent this bike back, the customer service from both amazon and schwinn, were impeccable, so much so, that I'm going to order another one, and hope it's not defective. I think so. The minor hand pull I did front and rear was only for aesthetics. The rear wheels definitely gain a lot of neg camber when compressed so shouldn't be an issue there and the front should be fine as well. What you may want to take into account is the "rim protector" on certain tires is fairly aggressive on some (Continental Extreme Contact Sport) but not existent on others (Hankook V12 Evo2). If any amount of poke bothers you, then try to look at pictures of wheels and look for that. But I would again say that is more for aesthetics. But I would prob look into removing the locating pin on the upper strut mount up front first and adding in that little bit of neg camber for more clearance first.

It's unclear at this point whether you'd lose any forward motion energy due to torque flex, but that can be tuned out of the system if required in any case. It's also unclear how much a pair of wheelchair-sized ASWs would cost at this point. We assume they're not cheap compared to a regular rim and tire setup.
