Yeah, you're right in that I should have said 'sufficiently rigid' as if you set it too stiffly it will explode. Wheel suspensions are pretty stable. As mentioned above, cranking up the stiffness and forcing 1-2 wheels to do all the stabilizing... can lead to boom. If you spread out the load over more suspensions, there's less load on any given area, on both grids, which can lead to you being happier all around. (Repairs are a *CENSORED* on some of those moving devices)

Is there something I'm not getting? Is there a way to just slap a wheel on a block and have it roll, or are suspension blocks the only way? Without suspension blocks, wheels on a grid don't even show up in said grid's control panel or hotbar assignment menu. I even made a few test girds that were just carts with wheels directly on blocks, with thrusters for motive power; The wheels wouldn't even spin.

Though smaller than the SQ7 TDI sold in Europe with its heavy V8 TDI engine, the e-tron is still some 400 lbs. heavier. If you go with a wheel that’s not weight rated for your car, you could find yourself easily bending your wheels or even worse. But I would prob look into removing the locating pin on the upper strut mount up front first and adding in that little bit of neg camber for more clearance first.

Well after reading all this I think I will go with the General G-MAX AS-03 245/35/20 at all four corners (since I have an X model) and the 20" Enkei's seen here. But it’s pretty unusual to damp a rotation of wheels, because this will slow down the straight moving. Over the winter of 2014-15, we’ve been developing and trialling our first 20 inch loopwheels designed especially for recumbent trikes. The springs are designed to cope with fast cornering and the particular forces of side-axles. We’re really happy with the results. Loopwheels-builder Graeme cycles the 12 miles to work on his trike most days – fitted with loopwheels, of course. He’s been pushing us to get these ready to share! We showed these new trike wheels at the Spezi show in Germersheim, Germany on 25 and 26 April 2015, along with another new design for trikes, with our own hubs and a disc brake fitting.
Loopwheels fit most manual wheelchairs using standard quick release axles. Choose between 24″ and 25″ diameter wheels, with or without Schwalbe Marathon Plus pneumatic tyres. These wheels have a standard axle bearing diameter of ½” (12.7mm). If you need a 12mm axle bearing instead of ½” then please contact us.
I don’t think it would affect the brake track. The wheel would flex on the bottom but would return to original shape and diameter when it rolled far enough to not be in contact with the ground. With any wheels there is always a little trepidation about hitting larger more inanimate objects but with Sam goading me on I started to aim for rocks, ruts and tree roots (did I mention we were riding off road!!!) and in every instance the wheels soaked up the impact, leaving me free to ride the bike without worry of knackered rims, aching arms or even getting up out of the saddle to soak up the impact – you can just let the wheels do the work.
