Founder Sam Pearce describes his design idea: “In 2007 my idea of a wheel with tangential suspension was born when I was sitting at Eindhoven airport waiting for a flight. I saw a mother pushing her child in a buggy. The front wheels hit a slight kerb and the child jolted forward because of the impact. I asked myself why a wheel couldn’t have suspension inside it, so it would soften an impact from any direction. I sketched the idea in my notebook, got on my flight, and didn’t think much more about it for a couple of years.”

I love it when my headtube angle steepens and my wheelbase shortens when I hit an obstacle. (deleted) TheKaiser on May 20th, 2016 - 12:16pm
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — For spring 2021, TerraTrike is going big with an ambitious new model inspired by its popular Gran Tourismo, and the result is a faster, more stable and more comfortable ride. The Gran Tourismo Sport, or GTS, is TerraTrike’s entry to the growing category of all-road endurance cycling – it’s quick enough to jump into a fast group ride, but comfortable enough for hours-long gran fondos. "Andy Weston advised and fitted my mother's power chair with the lead OT at RNOH Stanmore in 2018. He has subsequently come to her nursing home to fit a different safety belt and we found him enormously helpful and patient. His knowledge of the most suitable equipment was extensive and he sourced and had the new chair delivered ahead of the exp … "
Loopwheels fit most manual wheelchairs. Choose spoke colour, sticker colour on black wheels, add tyres and pushrim type.
Thats another issue im going to have is picking a tire size, do you think 1.5 is enough to be flush? It seems my fender gap is more prominent in the front and the back is slightly lower, could be my worn out springs showing. Also if you could recommend a tire that would go well with a 1.5 lowering (if thats enough) to go over 15X7s

You’ll notice your loopwheel has more movement, vertically and laterally. As soon as the springs are loaded, they compress and further change their concentricity. This is what gives your wheelchair comfort and shock absorption. A Loopwheel is designed to absorb shocks, reduce jolting and cushion your body against vibration. You’ll notice more sideways movement than with a spoked wheel, but you’re trading rigidity for greater comfort.
it's not THAT low, but it's low...lower than recommended by this site and every wheel shop. some go as far to say that they just won't work!!
Here we are... again. When I started writing in March 2020 about shielding, I didn't think that 10 months later we would still be in thi...
The Loopwheel works using three heavy duty springs instead of spokes. When the rider hits a bump, the springs compress to give a smooth ride

Winter is always a time of year where my symptoms flare and I think a lot of it is due to the cold weather. Winter, for me, is a happy time ...
Much like their wheelchair design has made it easier and more comfortable for users to get around in an urban environment, SoftWheel hopes the Fluent wheel can do the same thing for cyclists. The way they describe how the wheel absorbs shocks claims that they are especially effective at abrupt sharp edge obstacles like riding up and down stairs. Since the rim can variably move in the direction of each impact (as opposed to a typical fork which can only telescope up and down, or a rear suspension setup which is confined to the axle path determined by its layout), it is better suited to the wide range of actual impacts your normally encounter.
