Baigh invented a new type of bicycle wheel called the ShockWheel. The ShockWheel incorporates shock absorbing properties into the wheel by using bow-spokes. Unlike conventional fork suspension, the bow-spokes, positioned in a spiral arrangement, allow for compression in all directions. This new design may have the potential to revolutionize the bicycle industry.

So, it's what is suspending it left to right and holding the car balancing it left to right over the rear end of the car. Much like their wheelchair design has made it easier and more comfortable for users to get around in an urban environment, SoftWheel hopes the Fluent wheel can do the same thing for cyclists. The way they describe how the wheel absorbs shocks claims that they are especially effective at abrupt sharp edge obstacles like riding up and down stairs. Since the rim can variably move in the direction of each impact (as opposed to a typical fork which can only telescope up and down, or a rear suspension setup which is confined to the axle path determined by its layout), it is better suited to the wide range of actual impacts your normally encounter.
When I refer to this trike as such, the word “ultimate” seems to annoy some people. They ask questions, such as “Where do you get off, calling this the ‘Ultimate Sprint’?” They ask upon what do I base that description, isn’t it just a matter of opinion, and so on. When I finally get the chance to just say: this is the trike that ICE put in its “Ultimate Collection”, they just look momentarily lost for a comment, then eventually just nod. With every rotation the springs will bend and absorb a amount of energy. Normally this is called “damping”. Its pretty useful in some cases. But it’s pretty unusual to damp a rotation of wheels, because this will slow down the straight moving. For Bicycles (and all other vehicles) you should mount your springs in the direction where the impact is coming from plus a additional damper to stop the bouncing of the spring. These air shocks are tuneable to give you whatever level of tire deflection you choose, from super-firm to softer and squishier than a regular deflated tire can handle.
